Scottsdale Bulk Trash Schedule 2026: Brush & Bulk Pickup Dates and Rules for 85250

Scottsdale bulk trash 2026: Chaparral Park sits in Area 4 (south of Indian Bend). Remaining pickup weeks, pile limits and what the city won't take.

When is bulk trash pickup in Scottsdale? Once a month, by area, over a Monday-to-Friday collection week. Chaparral Park, at Hayden and Chaparral roads, sits south of Indian Bend Road, which puts it in Area 4. Area 4's remaining 2026 weeks are October 19–23 (this week), November 16–20 and December 21–25.

When can you put it out? No sooner than three days before the Monday of your collection week, and no later than 5 a.m. on that Monday. Crews pass each street once, so a pile that goes out Wednesday after the truck has come through stays there. If your 85250 street is north of Indian Bend Road, you're in Area 3. Either way, confirm with the city's My Services address lookup before you haul anything to the curb.

Data note: Dates, rules and limits are from the City of Scottsdale Solid Waste "Brush and Bulk Collection" page (last updated July 31, 2026), the City's 2026 Brush & Bulk Removal Schedule (PDF) and Scottsdale City Code Sec. 24-16.

What Scottsdale Bulk Trash Takes (and Doesn't)

Items the City Accepts

  • Furniture and mattresses
  • Tree limbs and branches: cut to 6 feet or less, under 12 inches in diameter, cut ends pointing the same way
  • Clippings, grass, leaves, palm skins and bark: bagged and tied
  • Televisions: CRT and projection screen
  • Cacti and century plants: in closed boxes with lids, 2' x 2' x 2' or smaller (saguaro cut to 6 feet)
  • Glass: only in small, sturdy, labeled cardboard boxes

Items the City Won't Take

  • Dirt, rocks, sod or sand
  • Concrete or cement
  • Fiberglass: tubs, showers, pool equipment, insulation
  • Construction and remodel debris: lumber, drywall, roofing, carpet, tile, countertops, mirrors
  • Auto parts: engines, body panels, tires and rims
  • Household trash and hazardous waste

Remodeling? The city is clear that construction debris is your responsibility, so build hauling into your contractor's scope.

How to Stack a Pile the Crew Will Collect

  • Two piles, not one: green waste in one, everything else in the other, at least 3 feet apart
  • Size limit per pile: 10 feet long, 6 feet wide, 4 feet tall, about six containers in two rows of three
  • Placement: neatly along your front property line, parallel to the street, or on your side of the alley if you have alley service
  • Clearances: keep piles off and away from city bins, water meters, cable boxes, hydrants, block walls and mailboxes. The web page says four feet; the 2026 PDF says three. Give it the larger berth.
  • Never: in empty lots, washes or HOA common areas

Crews allot about 20 minutes to an oversized pile. Anything left behind becomes the resident's job to remove within 72 hours of notice. If you live in an HOA, check its rules too; the city notes they may be stricter.

Other Disposal Options This Fall

  • Electronics recycling: next event Saturday, December 5, 2026, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., 9191 E. San Salvador Drive (85258). Bring a photo ID plus a city utility bill or rent receipt.
  • Salt River Landfill program: residential customers may haul up to 2,000 pounds of trash, brush or bulk once per week with a city utility bill and matching driver's license
  • Household hazardous waste: by appointment only; city facilities are not drop-off sites
  • Solid Waste: 480-312-5600

“Bulk week is the best free prep tool a seller in 85250 has. When clients are getting ready to list, I time the garage cleanout and the yard trim to land right before their area's collection Monday. It keeps the curb clean for photos, and nobody's paying for a dumpster to haul off an old sofa.”
